i never knew that. i think they must have got wise to that because they never used to give us a free ice cream!! you must have eaten them all! haha.

i spent mosst of life childhood in the island. my grandmother was born there and grew up there, live through the war there and still sees herself as an original barry island girl! she could tell you some storys!

As one of (probably) the oldest Groovy Rat,my memories go back to when this was the venue for the Annual Day Trip with the local chapel or Workmans Club for the children of the Valleys.A wonderful treat probably comparable to kids nowadays going abroad for the first time!!! The first place our mothers would take us would be to show us where all the lost kids would end up!! Once my cousins and I found out that you got a FREE ice cream....we would get lost on a regular basis!!!!!!!!
